Knocking on Doors, September 30, 2012

I spent today walking and talking to our neighbors on the 300 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE, 2400, 2500 and 2600 blocks of 4th Street NE, 500 block of Montana Ave NE, 400-500 blocks of Franklin Street NE, 400 blocks of Evarts Street NE and the 2700 block of 6th Street NE.

I am sorry if I missed you today if you live on those blocks.  I left a flier and a note; please use the contact page of this site to let me know if you have any questions for me and/or ideas/suggestions/issues you have for our neighborhood.

Today the neighbors I talked to shared these thoughts with me:

*  Concerned about traffic blocking the intersection at 4th and Adams Street NE
*  Trash and glass on the sidewalks
*  Creating a Neighborhood Watch
*  Additional Trashcans in neighborhood
*  No Dumping signs
*  Concerned about dumping on Ward 5 - heavy trucks parking in Ivy City
*  Concerned about residential housing turning into rooming houses
*  Desire for a better recreation center
*  Desire for a dog park
*  Funding to help the Edgewood Farmers' Market grow
*  Trash citations from DPW from neighbors' trash

*. Rodent infestation
